project overview
The VCC iPhone prototype was create to demonstrate a proposed project that would take points of interest within the Vancouver Convention Center (VCC) and overlay animations to help educate the public to the marvel that is the VCC.

The VCC iPhone prototype was created for Building Virtual Worlds (a course at the CDM) in which we were tasked with telling the “story” of a prominent Vancouver landmark. In the case of the Vancouver Convention Center, this story is one of sustainability; in a very bid way. Down to the smallest details, VCC’s focus on sustainability shines though. Unfortunately, many of the details were lost on casual visitors eager to know more about the site.

We thus decided upon proposing an augmented reality application for the iPhone that would locate specific markers with the webcam and overlay small animations to draw in the user to learn more details regarding the building.

The prototype was created in Flash AS2.
